WORDS | AIDAN T. E. GALASSETTI

Alex packs his lunch in a handkerchief and ties it to the end of a stick he found in the park before clambering down his brownstone’s 16 steps like a slinky and venturing out from Park Slope to capture the photos that would comprise our first contribution from a friend. He does not disappoint. ⠀

This edition of Street Keeps is a humble collection of black and white Kodak Tri-X film that captures the city at the start of winter. Energy burgeons over Chinatown’s fervent shopkeepers and gently crashes into the walls of the MoMA. ⠀

A homebody by habit Alex has grandiose reveries of suburban aging. Do not dare let these plans, almost monk-like in their detachment from worldly temptation and vice, suggest any form of apathy towards humanity as he can expertly open vulnerable and candid windows into city life with each satisfying shutter click. •
